Wright R-3350 Cyclone 18 Cylinder Air Cooled Engine. The R signifies Radial Engine design and the 3350 designates the cubic inches of the engine or size. The B-29 Was Supercharged which was new technology beginning with the B-17 Boeing aircraft which at the time was secret and the first superchargers built for the B-17's were manufactured by Studebaker Automobile Factory. The B-29 had four of these monster 18 cylinder engines making the total number of cylinders 72 at 8,800 horsepower. Unreal in the 1940's
